2020 Ford GT Supercar Sees New Upgrades

Ford’s always up for a challenge. This time, they successfully made powerful upgrades to the 2020 Ford GT supercar making it faster than ever before! The new GT supercar will also be available in two different appearance options including carbon liquid and a throwback edition that celebrates Ford’s 1969 Le Mans victory.

“Ford GT continues to be the pinnacle of Ford performance,” said Ed Krenz, Ford Performance chief program engineer. “GT is always the ultimate expression of Ford racing innovation, and as we know from the 1966 Le Mans through today, that means constantly raising our game for our customers as well as earning the checkered flag.”

The 2020 Ford GT features a 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine that boasts 660 horsepower! For better performance, the GT’s EcoBoost engine uses a broader torque band and revised engine calibration. The upgraded GT also sees an improved cooling system that includes new buttress air ducts and larger intercoolers. The upgraded GT will also feature a premium Akrapovič titanium exhaust as standard equipment. This new exhaust is nine pounds lighter than the previous system and produces the same powerful engine sound.

The all-new GT will also see some updates to its exterior as it will be released in an all-new Ford GT Liquid Carbon edition. This version will have no paint with only a special clear coat applied, and will also feature carbon fiber wheels.

“This next chapter in the Ford GT story allows us to fully demonstrate our mastery in both the art and science of carbon fiber craftsmanship and finishing,” said Angus Smith, General Manager of Multimatic Niche Vehicles, North America. “The results of this ongoing partnership between Multimatic and Ford Performance speak for themselves, as each visually stunning and unique Liquid Carbon GT is a manufacturing marvel, showcasing the characteristics and nuances inherent in carbon fiber composites.”

For those who want a blast to the past, the Ford GT supercar will also be released in an iconic heritage livery edition as well with a new design that includes a black pinstripe to divide the blue and orange colors.

Deliveries are currently on-going with production ceasing in 2022. Don’t miss out on this performance-packed car, and stop by Winner Ford in Cherry Hill today!
